Job satisfaction and its relationship with professional competence among administrative employees at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and professional competence among administrative employees at Al-Aqsa University, identify the levels of both variables, and examine differences in the study variables attributable to the demographic variables of gender and job title. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher employed the descriptive-analytical approach. The job satisfaction and professional competence scales, developed by the researcher, were administered to a sample of (222) administrative employees at Al-Aqsa University. The results revealed a moderate level of job satisfaction among administrative employees, with a percentage of (75.3%), and a high level of professional competence, with a percentage of (92.9%). The findings also indicated a statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction and professional competence, with a correlation coefficient of (0.476). Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found in the study variables attributable to gender, whereas statistically significant differences were found in job satisfaction and professional competence attributable to job title, in favor of department managers.
