Author Guidelines
1. General Information
The Palestine Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (PJEECS) welcomes original, high-quality scholarly contributions in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal considers original research articles, review articles, and other scholarly contributions consistent with its aims and scope.
All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal in terms of scope, originality, scientific quality, and compliance with the submission requirements. Manuscripts that pass this assessment are considered for peer review. The editorial decision to accept or reject a manuscript is based on its scientific merit, the reviewers’ evaluations, and the journal’s editorial policies.
2. Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare manuscripts in clear, formal English and ensure that the work is logically structured, technically sound, and adequately supported by evidence. Manuscripts should normally include the following elements, as appropriate to the article type:
-
Title: Concise and informative, accurately reflecting the study.
-
Abstract: A self-contained summary of the research problem, objectives, methods, principal results, and conclusions.
-
Keywords: Relevant terms that facilitate indexing and discovery.
-
Introduction: Background, research problem, motivation, and objectives, including the contribution of the work.
-
Methods or Technical Approach: Sufficient detail to explain the methodology, system design, algorithms, experiments, simulations, or analytical procedures.
-
Results and Discussion: Clear presentation and critical interpretation of findings, including comparisons with relevant literature where appropriate.
-
Conclusion: A summary of the principal findings, contributions, limitations, and potential future work, as applicable.
-
References: Complete and accurate bibliographic information for all cited sources.
The structure may vary according to the nature of the research and the article type. Equations, tables, figures, algorithms, and technical diagrams should be clearly presented, numbered where appropriate, and referred to in the manuscript text. All figures and tables must have descriptive captions and be legible.
Authors should use consistent terminology, symbols, units, and citation formatting throughout the manuscript. References must be checked for accuracy and completeness. The journal may request revisions to ensure that manuscripts meet its formatting and presentation requirements.
3. Originality and Research Integrity
Submissions must represent original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must disclose any substantial overlap with their previously published work and cite relevant publications appropriately.
All listed authors must have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the work, approved the submitted version, and agreed to its submission to PJECS. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the manuscript and that the author list and order are agreed upon before submission.
Any relevant financial support, conflicts of interest, and other information that could influence the interpretation of the research must be disclosed. Where applicable, authors must acknowledge funding sources and identify the role of sponsors in the research.
Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of research misconduct are unacceptable. Manuscripts may be rejected or subject to further action if concerns about research integrity arise.
4. Data, Code, and Reproducibility
For research involving computational methods, simulations, algorithms, software, datasets, or experimental systems, authors should provide sufficient methodological detail to support evaluation and, where feasible, independent reproduction of the results.
Where applicable and legally permissible, authors are encouraged to make relevant datasets, source code, experimental protocols, model configurations, and supplementary materials available through a recognized repository or as supplementary files. Repository links, persistent identifiers, and appropriate citations should be included in the manuscript.
If data or code cannot be made publicly available, authors should explain the relevant restrictions where appropriate. Authors must ensure that shared materials do not violate privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property rights, or applicable legal and ethical requirements.
5. Figures, Tables, and Third-Party Material
All figures, tables, photographs, diagrams, datasets, and other materials must be original or used with appropriate permission and attribution. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material when required and for retaining evidence of such permission.
Figures should be of sufficient resolution and quality for publication. Tables should be editable where possible and should not simply duplicate information already presented in figures or the main text.
6. Research Ethics
Research involving human participants, personal data, animals, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must comply with applicable legal and institutional requirements. Where approval is required, authors must identify the approving ethics committee or institutional review board and provide the relevant approval information in the manuscript. Informed consent should be obtained where applicable.
Authors must protect confidential or personally identifiable information and ensure that research involving human participants or sensitive data is reported responsibly.
7. Editorial Assessment and Peer Review
Each submission is subject to an initial editorial assessment. Manuscripts may be rejected without external review if they fall outside the journal’s scope, lack sufficient originality or scientific quality, have substantial methodological deficiencies, or fail to comply with essential submission requirements.
Manuscripts considered suitable for further consideration are sent for peer review in accordance with the journal’s peer-review policy. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial and reviewer comments. A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance.
The final publication decision rests with the journal’s editor or authorized editorial decision-maker, in accordance with the journal’s policies.
8. Submission Procedure
Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. During submission, authors must provide the required manuscript information, identify all co-authors, and upload any requested supplementary files.
