Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Manuscript Formatting

  1. Manuscripts should be prepared using a word-processing program on A4-size paper (21 × 29 cm).
  2. Font size: The font size should be 14 pt bold for main headings and 12 pt bold for subheadings in both Arabic and English.
    The main text, tables, and page numbers should be in 12 pt for Arabic manuscripts and 10 pt for English manuscripts.
  3. Font type: Arabic manuscripts should use Simplified Arabic, while English manuscripts should use Times New Roman.
  4. The manuscript title, author’s name, affiliation, academic position, and institutional affiliation should be provided on a separate title page.
  5. Page margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
  6. Line spacing: Single spacing.
  7. The manuscript should be organized according to the conventional academic structure. The titles of references, appendices, and tables should appear above them. The titles of figures and images should appear in full below them. Tables, figures, and images should be numbered consecutively.
  8. The complete manuscript should not exceed 30 pages, including references.

Manuscript Content

  1. Reviewers are entitled to recommend or introduce modifications to the manuscript as they deem appropriate. Authors are required to address and implement the requested revisions.
  2. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively according to their order of appearance in the manuscript, with a brief title for each. Their number should be limited to those essential for clarifying the researcher’s or author’s ideas.
  3. An abstract in both Arabic and English must be provided, with each abstract not exceeding 250 words.

In-Text Citations

For manuscripts written in Arabic, sources should be cited immediately after the relevant information as follows:

  1. Citing a journal article or book: The citation should be placed in parentheses and include the author’s surname, year of publication, and page number, separated by commas, followed by a period.
    Example: (Saadat, 2013, 76).
  2. Qur’anic verses: The citation should appear in the text using the name of the Surah, followed by a colon and the verse number.
    Example: (Al-Nisa: 55).
  3. Internet sources: Internet sources should be cited in parentheses using the author’s surname followed by the year of publication.
    Example: (Saada, 2004).
  4. For manuscripts written in English, citations should be made using numbered references on each page. If the same reference is cited again, it should retain the same number assigned to it previously.

References at the End of the Manuscript

1. Article Published in an Arabic-Language Journal

An article published in an Arabic-language journal should be cited as follows:

Author’s surname, first name, article title in bold, journal title, volume, issue, and year of publication in parentheses.

Example:

Mustafa, Suleiman Mohammed, Cost Management in Light of Modern Technologies. Journal of Commercial Research – Faculty of Commerce, Zagazig University, Vol. 33, No. 1 (2011).

Note:
If a reference has more than one author, list the first author’s name as described above, followed by “et al.”, and then complete the citation according to the format shown in the example.

2. Article Published in a Foreign-Language Journal

An article published in a foreign-language journal should be cited as follows:

Author’s surname, initial of first name, article title in bold, journal title, volume, issue, page range, and year.

The volume and issue should be abbreviated as Vol. and No.

Example:

Alsunbul, A. Issues Relating to Distance Education in the Arab World, Convergence, Vol. XXXV, No. 1, pp. 59–80, 2002.

Note:
If a reference has more than one author, list the first author’s name as described above, followed by “et al.”, and then complete the citation according to the format shown in the example.

3. Book in Arabic

An Arabic-language book should be cited as follows:

Author’s surname, first name, book title, edition, publisher, country (year).

Example:

Al-Halfawi, Walid, E-Learning: Innovative Applications. 1st ed., Dar Al-Fikr Al-Arabi, Egypt (2011).

Note:
If a book has more than one author, list the first author’s name as described above, followed by “et al.”, and then complete the citation according to the format shown in the example.
